DETACHED WORK

Detached work is doing informal, one-to-one drug prevention activities with members of the public. This might be in a high street, at a local library, at a school fair, church fun day, or other similar settings. We work from a stand and have a variety of games and activities available for people to try. You might find yourself stacking cups while wearing ‘beer goggles’, or trying to identify what is, and what is not, a drug.

Sometimes the stand focusses on general drug information, but at others it may have a specific focus or theme – for example how drugs might affect the work environment, alcohol and driving, vaping, or nitrous oxide.

If you think this might be useful at an event you are planning, please contact us for more information.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

“Just want to say that the lady in the library demonstrating the caffeine content of drinks on Saturday morning was great. She has really made me aware of my caffeine use. I’m currently detoxing and it’s not great but I am very grateful to her for spending the time to explain to me. Great work that’s making a difference – thank you lovely lady.”
